Roger T. Packard Lifetime Achievement EMS/Medical

EMT Roger T. Packard of Harrisville, NH was nominated by the Cheshire Fair Association and members of “Rogers Rangers”.

For many years EMT Packard was a member of the Harrisville Fire Department, just recently retiring.

EMT Packard started in the EMS field in the late 1950’s.  He volunteered for the American Red Cross, working first aid at the Cheshire Fair.  After a few years of helping, he was asked to take over the responsibilities for running and staffing the Red Cross station during the fair.  At that point in time “Rogers Rangers” was formed to provide the Cheshire Fair with a consistent, reliable and trained group of EMS individuals who are available 24 hours a day during the setup, running and closing of the yearly Cheshire Fair.

The “Rogers Rangers” group currently hosts a roster of over 75 EMS personnel.  they have been asked to help provide EMS coverage at and for other events held at the fairgrounds.  This group is still active and has a great working relationship with the fair and the coordinators for the many events held at the fairgrounds during the year.

During EMT Packard’s EMS service, of over 56 years, he has always been active with his hometown’s EMS and has functioned in many capacities with the Marl-Harris Ambulance Services, including being on the board of directors and serving as Captain.   For at least 40 years EMT Packard has been a member of the NH EMT testing/examination group for the southwestern NH area and has helped at and worked at many exams during his tenure with the examination group.

EMT Packard has been a leader, friend, teacher and mentor to hundreds of individuals involved with and in the EMS field.  His advice and counsel, along with his level headed leadership have helped structure the course of many individuals lives and careers.

It is with great pleasure that the NH Police, Fire & EMS Foundation presents EMT Roger T. Packard with a Lifetime EMS/Medical Achievement Award!
