Aaron Stacy                                                Portsmouth Police Department

Chief Stephen DuBois, and the Portsmouth Police Department proudly nominated Officer Aaron Stacy for his quick actions and exceptional performance in the line of duty on the morning of March 4, 2015.

Just prior to 5:00 am March 4, 2015 the Portsmouth Police Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting a fire at a residence located at 1177 Sagamore Avenue, Portsmouth.  The resident calling in informed dispatch the home was filling with smoke.  She also reported her husband was disabled and in bed, unable to get out on his own.

Officer Stacy was in the area at the time the call came over the radio and went straight to the residence.  Being the first emergency responder to arrive, he radioed dispatch that it was a working fire.  Officer Stacy immediately entered the smoke-filed residence to evacuate the residents.  Officer Stacy was able to locate the disabled male in his bed, put him into his wheelchair, and got him out of the burning residence to safety.

Officer Stacy’s quick actions likely prevented the resident from being exposed to severe smoke inhalation and other serious injuries.  Officer Stacy acted without hesitation, going above and beyond the call of duty in securing the safety of a disabled gentleman and his wife.

The NH Police, Fire & EMS Foundation proudly presents Officer Aaron Stacy with a Police Certificate of Recognition!
